Air Plant Terrarium

Today, I decided to build my own air plant terrarium because I was curious about how they would do in a glass terrarium. I wanted to simulate the natural conditions that they would get in the wild. I put them in a glass terrarium that wasn’t quite airtight, then added different layers of black, white, and sand colored rocks. I also added some larger rocks I found in my backyard. I layered the different colored rocks and it looked very natural. I put all three of my air plants in the terrarium and gave them some water and some air plant fertilizer to get them used to their new home.

I think I did a very good job because I don’t know anything about air plants and what they like. I didn’t realize it, but I made it into a desert landscape without even noticing. I also added some dried up sphagnum moss and an additional layer of white rocks to cover the black rocks to make everything look smooth and natural. I put the air plant terrarium next to a window that gets partial sunlight just like where they used to be. I hope they do well and get bigger and more colorful.
